Coastal and Marine Engineers

Jones Bros coastal and marine engineers have developed substantial expertise in managing and carrying out flood and coastal protection and defences, and coastal infrastructure. We offer specialist advice and solutions within all our infrastructure services and coastal management. Much of this is carried out in the demanding environment of shorelines and riverbanks subject to tidal and river level fluctuations.

Jones Bros recognise the sensitive nature of the environments in which these works are undertaken and the restrictions on standard working practices that the tide and estuary places on our construction operations. Strict environmental management and plant maintenance procedures ensure the risk of pollution to the water is minimised.

We are practised at producing and handling rock armour and core materials graded to the
Ciria Cur Rock Manual. From projects in the Isle of Wight the North West, South West and the South East of England to the North Wales coastline, we have produced and placed hundreds of thousands tonnes of rock in the coastal and river environment.

In addition, we carry out beach nourishment and management, and the recycling of shingle
or sand.

Port & marina facilities
Jones Bros has managed and built substantial port and marina facilities and offer specialist solutions in areas such as marina infrastructure, marina design, marine infrastructure, marine engineering and have a vast experience as marina construction contractors. These include a prestigious marina in an environmentally sensitive estuary and the infrastructure for a new terminal for an operational ro-ro ferry facility at a key UK-European transportation hub.
