The Role

We are looking for an organised, capable and confident individual to join our dynamic organisation as the I.T. Support Technician. The successful candidate will join our I.T. department reporting directly to our I.T. Manager.

Working in a small team means that the successful applicant will be given plenty of exposure to a variety of matters arising in a supportive working environment to develop knowledge and experience.

The role’s responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting all I.T. enquiries to 1st Line Level, reporting directly to the I.T. Manager.
  • Setting up and configuring desktops/laptops, Smart-phones, etc.
  • Monitoring and log all support calls received by telephone and email.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, printer and software issues reported to the Support Desk.
  • Replacing or repairing defective parts and equipment.
  • Supporting Microsoft Office Suite 2007-2016 queries.
  • Setting up and administering users, groups and permissions on Windows Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Record keeping for all IT hardware and software within the company.
  • Willingness to travel to our other construction sites if required. Therefore a clean and current driving license is required.
  • Attending courses to develop and skills and knowledge and ensure it is maintained as current.

The role is for permanent employment.

Pre-requisite qualifications and capabilities

To be successful in this role you must have the following attributes:

  • A strong background in I.T. up to ‘A’ Level or College Course essential.
  • Experience of working in an I.T. Support role beneficial but attitude and ability to learn quickly more essential.
  • Must have an IT user focus and a desire to assist others.
  • A methodical and disciplined approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proven technical ability.
  • A strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel to our other construction sites if required. Therefore a clean and current driving license is required.
