Leading civil engineering firm Jones Bros is seeking applications for apprenticeships and higher apprenticeships.

The family firm recruited almost 60 apprentices in the past two years – a record for the Ruthin-based company.

And Jones Bros Civil Engineering is now gearing up to take on a further 60 in the next 12 months.

Ruth James, director, said: “Jones Bros is a dynamic and forward thinking organisation employing more than 300 people.

“Our teams deliver high quality environmental and civil engineering solutions, safely, for a diverse range of projects and clients.

“Our flat management structure results in a flexible organisation where self-motivated, practical, problem solvers will thrive.

“Trainees at Jones Bros will be given plenty of exposure to a variety of matters in a supportive working environment to develop knowledge and experience

The company is growing and we believe firmly in developing talent organically, providing clear career progression, and promoting from within.

“This is evidenced by the fact some of our most senior managers joined us as apprentices. We are a people business and investment in people is key to our success.

“There are a huge range of roles in civil engineering construction, including skilled groundworkers and plant operatives, supervisors, engineers and quantity surveyors, which can lead on to project and commercial management.

“The company can also offer careers in support areas such as finance, health and safety and environmental management.”

Founded in the 1950s and employing almost 350 people, Jones Bros has grown rapidly in the last decade. It is currently working on contracts in various sectors including the construction of waste management facilities, highways, flood and marine defence and renewable energy projects around the UK.
